Women Leading the way at Protech

March 30, 2020

In our last blog, we highlighted women who pioneered the automotive industry and the modern-day leaders they inspired. To continue our celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re putting the spotlight on some of our own incredible teammates. Day in and day out, they inspire everyone here at Protech. These teammates also shed light on the opportunities for women who want to pursue an exciting and growing industry. Without their constant hard work and dedication to keeping families safe on the road, we wouldn’t be able to give lives the all clear.

Brittany Stevens: Calibration Technician
Brittany began her career at a technical college, where she learned how to disassemble and reassemble vehicles, do body work, paint and weld. In such a hands on learning environment, she discovered how exciting and empowering it was to take something broken and make it ready to hit the road again. While her first role with us was painting, a regional manager on the team couldn’t help but notice Brittany’s drive and ability to make a larger impact with Protech. At the time, calibration wasn’t her specialty; in fact, she didn’t know anything about it. However, she wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity, because her favorite part about this industry is taking on a new challenge and finding room to grow. That led her to our ADAS technician training program, where she flourished and focused on her goals instead of the obstacles. In Brittany’s own words, “if you want something, go get it!” We are so fortunate to have her on our team and can’t wait to see everything she achieves.

Molissa Ferenz: Calibration Technician
Molissa stumbled into the automotive repair industry. Her first car had a lot of problems, so she took it upon herself to learn different mechanical skills needed to fix it up and save money. It wasn’t long before she realized she could actually make money with her newfound skills. Thankfully she pursued a career with these skills, because it led her to become one of our incredible teammates. Here at Protech, Molissa believes that every day is a chance to be a part of something that plays an integral part in people’s lives. She admits there have been challenges along the way but taking on those challenges is how she succeeds. As a mother of two, Molissa says, “I believe in leading by example. Women in this and many other industries succeed every day in their personal and professional lives. Why should mine or any other woman’s life be any different? If you work hard, believe in what you do, you can be happy doing something you love.” With that attitude, it’s easy to see why Molissa is such an integral part of our family.

Deanna McCormick: Area Manager
Deanna has always loved cars. Her passion led her to her career in the automotive industry, where she started as a receptionist at a dealership 30 years ago. While raising two children, she worked in administration for a few mechanical shops before heading to a corporate office job for an automotive company. There, she had mentors who made a lasting impact on her career as she rose through the ranks to become the area manager she is today. As a person who always wants to help, she believes that finding the “why” in what you’re doing matters most. That core value has made her a great mom and an amazing Protech teammate. When it comes to succeeding in this industry, Deanna believes “If you have a passion for something, go for it, do what you do, lead with all you have to give. You might need to be a mom figure one day, a therapist, just a sounding board, but at the end of the day the most important thing you can do is allow your team to grow and thrive. Accountability and integrity are the most important things you can share as a leader.” Deanna’s leadership is one of a kind, and we are thankful to have her on our team.

Our core values aren’t just pretty words up on posters around the office or on our website. Giving Lives the All Clear doesn’t just happen. These things make Protech different – because we are made of incredible teammates like these. Every single day, their hard work, leadership and dedication shows what’s possible for the future of women in the automotive industry.
